Hermanos Estebecorena

Both born in Buenos Aires, the Estebecorena brothers (Alejo-Industrial Designer and Javier -Fashion Designer) started working together founding their own design studio in 1998 doing interdisciplinary design for a number of companies. Working in graphic, industrial and clothing design for companies like Faena Hotel, Sofitel Hotels, Malba Museum, Freddo, Aroma, Swiss Medical Group, Essen Aluminio, Bersa SA, among others.
After several years doing design for other companies, and winning both fashion and industrial design awards (in South America and abroad), they started their own menswear brand in 2001 called Hermanos Estebecorena (HE).
Published by national and international magazines (ID, Spruce, MD, Conde Naste, Elle, Time Out, Air France, Folha do Sao Paulo, etc) their work is based on the search of new solutions in form and function which give a practical yet aesthetical industrial product.
This intelligence applied into fashion reaches a range of diverse products: Pants, shirts, jackets, T-shirts, underwear, shoes and leather goods, all available in the two HE exclusive shops in Buenos Aires
They were selected by the MoMA of NYC to sell accessories at their on-site Shop, and also selected to sell in Le Bon Marche, Paris, Unikum, Isolee (Spain). Their products are available at Bird (NYC), Opening Ceremony (NYC, LA, Tokyo) and soon to be at Surface to Air (Brazil).
Most recently, they were requested by U2 to design leather jackets for Bono on stage. They are also designers of all the clothing for Oscar winning Gustavo Santaolalla and the world renowned Bajofondo Tango Club band.
Both brothers are mechanical engineers and designers from Buenos Aires University and both currently teach and conduct research at the University of Buenos Aires.
